1. Who we are
FreeToolsDownload.com provides free online tools, QR code utilities and free software downloads. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “FreeToolsDownload” refer to the operator of www.freetoolsdownload.com. We are based in Malaysia and serve users across Asia and beyond. If you have any question about this policy, contact us through our contact page.
2. Everything here is free
We do not sell anything on this website. We do not take payments, we do not process card details, we do not issue invoices, and we hold no payment records of any kind. If you are ever asked to pay for something on this site, it is not us.
3. Information we collect
If you only use the tools, we collect almost nothing. You do not need an account to use the QR generator or the file tools.
Account information. If you choose to create an account, we store your username, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form). You may also add a name, company and country to your profile if you wish; those fields are optional.
Download records. If you download software while signed in, we record which file you downloaded and when, so you can find it again on your Downloads page.
QR code data. For QR codes you save to your account we store the content you encode and your design settings. For dynamic QR codes we also store the destination URL and scan events, which may include the time of the scan.
Location and sign-in records. When you register, and each time you sign in, we record your approximate country and the date and time. The country is determined from the internet (IP) address your device is connecting from. We record the country only — we do not track your precise location, and we cannot identify your address from it.
Technical data. Standard web server logs and cookies, described in section 6.
4. Tools that run in your browser
Our image, PDF, text and QR tools are designed to process your files inside your own browser wherever technically possible. In those tools the file you select is not uploaded to our servers, and we do not receive or retain a copy of it.
5. Software you download from us
Software downloaded from this site runs on your own computer or your own web hosting. It does not send your files, your database or your website content to us.
Some software offered here has an optional paid version sold on a separate website, freetoolsdownload.com. If you choose to buy and activate a licence, that activation is handled by freetoolsdownload.com under its own privacy policy, not by this site. Nothing you do on FreeToolsDownload.com requires a licence.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that are necessary for the website to function, including keeping you signed in. We also use analytics provided through Google to understand general traffic patterns. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though account features will not work without them.
7. Email
We use your email address to operate your account — password resets, and notices such as a dynamic QR code approaching its expiry date. If you opt in to updates, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email. We do not sell or rent your email address.
8. How we use your information
To create and maintain your account, to let you find your previous downloads, to provide the QR features you have chosen, to understand which countries our users are in, to respond to support requests, and to keep the service working and secure.
9. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — our hosting provider, email delivery services, analytics, and an IP geolocation service used to determine the country of a sign-in — and only to the extent needed. The geolocation service receives only the internet (IP) address being looked up; it does not receive your name, email address or any account details. We may also disclose information where required by Malaysian law or to protect our legal rights.
10. How long we keep it
Account information, download records, saved QR codes, and country and sign-in dates are kept for as long as your account is open, and are deleted when the account is deleted. Because we take no payments, we hold no financial records and have no accounting retention obligation.
11. Your rights
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable period. Since we hold no payment or licence records, deletion here is straightforward and complete.
12. Security
We use HTTPS across the site, store passwords only as hashes, and restrict administrative access. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
13. Children
Our services are intended for general adult and business use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
